Yes, John born in 1792 was the oldest. Here are the Children of Archibald and Deborah from the 1822 Bible. I have much more on the children who moved to Michigan but just have not gotten around to updating this document.
1. JOHN MARRS, son of Archibald, b. 9 Jan. 1792 in Pa., d.10 Sept 1873 at Fayetteville, W. Va., m. at Giles (later Fayette Co W. Va.) in 1819, Nancy Jenkins, b. 10 Mar. 1797 maybe in Kanawha Co. W. Va., d. 27 June 1878 in Fayetteville, W. Va
2. PEGGY MARRS, dau. of Archibald Marrs b. 9 Nov. 1793.; d. before 1870. Peggy married Phillip Lybrook and lived in Giles, Co, Virginia the remainer of her life.
3. ANDREW MARRS, son of Archibald Marrs, b. 1 Mar 1795, d. 27 Nov. 1862, Berrien Co. Michigan; m. 20 Oct. 1820, in Giles Co. Va., Peggy Jones b. 05 Oct 1800 in Giles, Co. W.Va. d. 14 Aug 1847 in Berrien Co. Mich. Ch: Parker Marrs, b. 1828 in Giles Co. W. Va.; Hugh, Anderson and others unknown.
4. HUGH MARRS, son of Archibald, b. 29 July 1797 in Virginia. 19 Aug 1878 in Berrien Co. Mich. The family moved to Giles Co. Va. in 1806. m. 1st. Eleanor Riggin, dau. of Thomas and Mary Dunn Rigginin Giles Co. Va. They moved in 1829 and 1830 to Berrien, Co. Michigan. Hugh and Eleanor had 6 Children.
5. POLLY MARRS, Dau of Archibald Marrs, b. 22 July 1799. d. Ca 1866 Polly and George Washington Marrs are also buried at the South Union Cemetery near Niles, Michigan.
6. LETITIA (LETTY) MARRS, Dau of Archibald Marrs, b. 6 Feb 1802, d. 03 January 1869. Married James Jenkins, b. 07 Sept 1800, d. 10 Feb 1875 in Berrien Co. Michigan; son of John Jenkins and Jane McGeorge and brother of Nancy Jenkins, wife of John Marrs (1.2) They moved to Michigan with the rest of her brothers and sisters and are buried in the South Union Cemetery near Niles, Michigan.
7. SAMUEL MARRS, Son of Archibald Marrs, b. 22 Feb. 1804, d. ? in Chicago, Ill. Samuel moved to Berrien County with his brothers and laid out the town of Niles. He married and had a daughter Helen who married a Babcock who was a professor. He lived most of his life in Chicago, Ill. and may be buried there. He visited his nephew, Archibald Marrs while Archibald was a prisoner of war at Rock Island, Ill. during the Civil War.
8. ALEXANDER MARRS, Son of Archibald Marrs, b. 18 April 1806, d. 06 February 1970 at the age of 63. He married 1st Jane _______, who died 29 March 1847 at the age of 31. He married 2nd, Ursula ______, who died 07 July 1871. The author has not pursued research on this line.
9. WILLIAM MARRS, Son of Archibald Marrs, b. 18 Sept 1809. d. 17 April 1875. We have no information on this man or his issue. He is buried in Berrien Co. Michigan.
10. ROBERT MARRS, Son of Archibald Marrs, b. 1 June 1815. d. 23 June 1816.
11? WASHINGTON MARRS, Possible Son or Grandson of Archibald, listed in Archibald's Family Bible with the rest of the children. b. 24 Dec. 1821. He and Polly Marrs were in Michigan for the 1850 census. There was a women of Polly's age with a child of Washington's age on the Michigan census of 1830. He may have been Polly's child. The evidence of this is the remarkable silence about the two from the other members of a very verbal and close-knit family. He might have been Deborah's child and Polly raised him. Polly lived in his household all her life.
