back again, john and beatrice became such good friends with princess marie louise that they named their daughter after her and she became the childs godmother they also had a son john marriott after the father, i have photos of these events and film footage is available on www.britishpathe.com. our family were the only pearlie3s alllowed to attend her funeral at windsor this event is also on there. john died young only in his fifties of lung cancer but beatrice lived into her late eighties and done so many things it would be hard to try and list them all now, i mean there was the launching of the spirit of london a p@o liner in the 70's, if you watch mary poppins that was our family in that i ahve the details of these things from paper cuttings ect that all the family have saved over the generations would be willing to send you copies. john pritchard had a very large pearly funeral and a headstone stands upon his grave of a pearly king, he also was presented with a royal coat of arms armband of princess marie louise which was passed down to his son john as was his pearly suit. if this sounds like the same family i will carry on jo but polly elwin jones was a good friend of my mums jean marriott and it was thru my mumj that she was introduced into the world of the pearlies and decided to write about them in the 70's so its got to be the same family dont you think?
