I live in Car Colston, England in a house called Marriotts which was built in the early 1800s and it takes its name from one of the old car colston families of small farmers and cottagers, the marriott family.

I will tell you all the information i know, but if you want to know more then the church is full of marriotts, i can go and look at the gravestones for you.

the last marriott in car colston, william, was and unqualified vet and farmer until the 1950's and he lived to be ninety. and we still have his old signboard, made out of wood, which reads 'W.Marriott Farrier and Druggist'

the house we live in has been extended from the original, and the garden that is now at the back of the house, used to be a farmyard. the house next door used to be the stabled for the marriotts, and they built another property in the village i think.

Its great finding out about who used to live in our house!as i say, if you want any information, the church has loads that i can get for you about the marriotts.
