There's a North Carolina marriage record for a James Bascom MORRIS, age 25, "of Ronoke, VA" to Nancy K. GOODMAN, age 19, "of Ronoke, VA" on 5-Aug-1933 in Yanceyville, Caswell Co, NC. Groom's parents were G.F. and Lillian MORRIS. Bride's parents were W.R. and Susie K. GOODMAN.

This marriage record is about a decade off from when you thought they might have been married.

In 1940 Nancy K. GOODMAN is living in Roanoke, VA with her mother Susie K. GOODMAN. Nancy is listed as single, not divorced. There are no children in the family, just Susie, Nancy and a boarder.

In the 1920 census Nancy, age 5, is living with her parents, Willie R., 47, and Susie K., 38, in the household of Willie's father, Richard GOODMAN, in Lynchburg, VA. There are two other grandchildren in the household, Clinton, 24, and Willie R. Jr, 17.

In 1910 in Lynchburg the household is Willie R. GOODMAN, wife Susie K., son Willie R. Jr and Susie's mother, Sarah SAUNDERS, age 63.

I can not find the family in 1930.

There's a North Carolina marriage record for Willie Rives GOODMAN, age 28, of Lynchburg, VA, to Sussie Kate SAUNDERS, age 19, of Salem, VA, on 6-Oct-1900 in Pelham, Caswell, NC. Groom's parents were R.R. and P.J. GOODMAN. Bride's parents were Ransom P. and Sarah SAUNDERS.
