JJames "Johnny" Bascom Morris -Marriages/connections

Working on family tree - my father, James Bascom Morris b. 23 Oct 1907, d. 12 Feb 1969--dropped out of school in 1923; 1924 he joined the Navy, then Natl. Gd., then Army. Prior to a confirmed marriage in 1940 (Edna Louise Oliver), there was supposed to be a Nancy Goodwin (variable spellings possible - Gooden, Godin, Goodwyn).Spelling of given and surname appearing first above was listed on Federal paperwork when he had applied for Federal employment after
his military retirement. There was no other info on Nancy except DIVORCED written across where captions appeared for other related information--such as reason, date, city, state, etc. Looking for any information to help me get over this brick wall, hopefully will find other family members -- he was raised in VA (Pulaski, Roanoke, and military careeres took him elsewhere. I have met a half sister (of a
3rd wife) who was very young and only remembers him saying
the 1st name was "Nancy" and they were too young. Another
reason I think she may have been connected about the time tat he dropped out of school. Please share any info that I might possibly follow up on. Thanks.

Helen Morris Rushing dob 07/20/1929
