My grandparents Ralph and Doris (Holloway) Hicks were married on September 12, 1924. When I went to my local Hall of Records for Fresno County, California, they could not find a record of their marriage. I tried contacting the State Records Department, but they said they no longer have the personnel to do researches. Does anyone know of a way to obtain a copy of a marriage record in Calfornia? If I drive to Sacramento, would I be able to research their records myself?
