Hey, man, have you ever considered that they may have gone from Cuba to Puerto Rico, where, by the way, we are not abundant but there IS one family, to the mainland in south america and/or MEXICO, and THEN to the US. Cuba was the main landing point for Spaniards in the new world before they moved on to their assignments in the new world. While they landed there, Being that it was the largest island in the chain, they often times did not STAY there. After their initial landing, many of them subsequently took their accounts, and their surnames, elsewhere. So maybe the scope of your search needs to expand a bit.
