I believe the Middleton Maroney you found in the Civil War is the son of John Aydelott Maroney and unknown wife who had 7 children born between 1830-1847. John's wife must have died and he married for the 3rd time to Elizabeth Lavins and they had 3 children. John also had 5 children from his first wife, Rachel Frost.
The Middleton Maroney born 1804 and died by 1834 was the uncle of the 2nd Middleton. The older Middleton was the son of Isaac Maroney and Rhoda Aydelott who were also the parents of John Aydelott Maroney along with William, Mary "Polly", Nancy, Rachel and 3 other daughters. Middleton born 1804 married Elizabeth Lawler and did have three children, Nancy C., Marion, and Emily. I do have more information on them.
Brothers Middleton Maroney and John A. Maroney were in the civil war. They stayed close to each other. Middleton and John moved to Texas, where John probably died. Middleton continued to live in Red River Co, TX until his death in 1905.
If there is another Middleton Maroney in Alabama in the Civil War and in Marshall and Franklin Counties, I do not know who he is. I do have information on the above Middletons who are both in my line of Maroneys. My direct line are the John A. Maroneys.
