Maroney's and Parkhills

7. William Harvey Parkhill b. Feb.15, 1870 married Polley Ann Maroney b. Aug. 24, 1870 d. Aug. 20, 1955. Polly was the daughter of Francis Marion Maroney and Louisianna A. Burkett. Francis Marion Maroney was born April 23, 1850 and died Feb. 16, 1928 and is buried in Honeycomb Cemetery, Marshall County., Alabama. Lousisaina Bukett Maroney was born in 1851 and died Jan. 12, 1890. When F. M. Maroney died, Polly and two of her brothers contested his estate. The Maroney's were a prominent family and are also buried in the same cemetery in Honeycomb Valley Cemetery Alabama. William and his family left Alabama and lived in Milam County, Texas. Remember that Dixie Ellen Parkhill, daughter of David Goodner Parkhill above was married to L.M. Maroney in Lamar Co. Texas. He moved back to Alabama and died Apr. 14, 1957

4. Myra Jane Parkhill b. Dec. 26, 1896 married Andrew Mack Sims the son of Sarah E. Maroney and Leonard Sims. Sarah Maroney was the daughter of Middleton Maroney, and Middleton and Francis Marion Maroney were brothers

Dixie "Ellen" Parkhill . Born Nov.11, 1862 in Lamar Co. Texas and died Mar. 25, 1935. She had married Henry Brown, the brother of Susan Brown who had married Dixie’s brother Arthur. Later on Henry died and she married Lafayette M. Maroney in Lamar Co, Texas on Dec 9 1909. Evidently, some of the Maroney's left Marshall County, Alabama and settled alongside the Parkhills in Lamar Co.Texas. On the 1910 Census of Lamar Co, TX. L. M. Maroney age 64 born AL (3rd Marriage) and Dixie, 48 born Texas (2nd marriage). On the 1920 Census of Fannin Co, Tx, Honey Grove, Dixie Maroney, age 58, born TX, living alone. · Census: 1930 Fannin County, Texas · Burial: Oak Wood Cemetery, Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas · Reference Number: 2328 · Note: Mrs. D. E. MARONEY filed a Civil War Military, Confederate Pension Application -- #45632 in Fannin County, TX. Husband listed as Lafayette MARONEY
