I wonder if Amanda is somehow related to the family of Benjamin (b. abt. 1790)& Elizabeth Maroney (b. abt. 1799). I know they definitely had 3 sons - Alfred (b. abt. 1821), James L. (b. 5/24/1832), and Lloyd L. b. 2/1837). They appear on several censuses together. But from either the boards here or at ancestry.com someone listed them as having an older sister Amanda born in 1820. She could be your Amanda's mother. Lloyd had a daughter Amanda but she would be too young - born in 1869. Benjamin and family lived in Carroll Co. GA. Alfred later moved to Douglas Co.

If any of this helps you or if you do end up hooking them together, please let me know.
