Meroney/IRE-NC/1700-1900s- HELP PLEASE!

I am just starting with my Meroney/Maroney research. This is what I have: My grandmother, Louise Meroney Smith, born 1905 in Mocksville, Davie Co, NC, daughter of Margaret Meroney and James Henry Smith. Grandma had a family heirloom on her wall- a Coat-of-Arms or Family Crest that read "Philip Delancy Meroney". ( I am not sure of the spelling on the crest of "Delancy"...might have been spelled "DeLancey" or "DeLancy".) She had told me before she died that it had been passed down through her mother's family for years and years. I am trying to find Louise's father and the rest of the line to Philip Delancy Meroney. I have located a Philip Flynn Meroney (1826-1884) who was a tailor in Mocksville. I know there is some contention as to whether Philip used the name "Delancy" but there is no doubt what this family crest/coat-of-arms said. Can anyone help me?
