I was born in Wilton, Iowa, spend 33 years in Fountain valley, Ca and moved here to Oklahoma Jan 1993 to help withmy wife's parents.
Been working on Maurer genealogy for months/years. Living in CA made it difficult to get info, also working on my mother's side. Anyhow, I asked an older cousin bout the Marolf's being related by way of great grandmother. Was told to get in touch with Margaret R Marolf of Muscatine, IOwa. On trip back to Iowa I went to see Margaret. She has a lot of info on the Marolfs. Only problem she doesn't type and has no computer so everything is handwritten. She has given my 30- pages of material. I tried putting in on my Family Tree Maker forms. Thought I was doing great until I went to print it. As you probably know when you have Marolf and Maurers marrying each other you end up with duplicate names on each tree. Also had a problem with Margaret spelling Benedict several different ways for the same person.
So have decided to redo it all. I'venoticed others have sent their info to Family
tree and it is now on their program. Also have found Marolf info on LDS records. But noticed conflicting info. I think others have had the same problem I did with spelling of names.
Would like to share what I have with you, Margaret spends a lot of time collecting info and you might be interested in what she gave me.
