I am seeking information on Jane Marlin who married Robert Bates in Williamson County, Tennessee on May 12, 1827 with bondsmen Robert Bates and George Marling. In the 1850 census, Jane and Robert are living in the household of Barnett Jones who married Mary Marlin on December 1, 1831 in Williamson County, TN. Barnett's sister, Susannah Jones married Robert C. Marlin and his brother, James married Rhoda Marlin. In the 1860 census, Jane Marlin Bates is living with James and Rhoda Marlin Jones. I believe Jane is either the mother or grandmother of the Marlin sisters, Rhoda and Mary. I beleive that Marlin is not Jane's maiden name but her married name and she was a widow when she married Robert Bates. If you have any information on what Marlin Jane was married to or this family fits in with any of your Marlins in Williamson, Sumner or Davidson County, Tennessee, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks.
