Sue,

Sorry we could not find a match. My book has information on the six Marley families that were in NC in the mid 1700s and could not find a match. I checked the index for Gilbert/Guilbert and Cummins/Cummings and neither was listed.

On the Middle initial - For what it is worth I have never seen the middle intitial to indicate an inability to write.
