Jim, I really appreciate your responding to my message; however, the Mary you mentioned couldn't have been my 3rd great grandmother, Mary, because my Mary was born in about 1729 (husband, Edward born in about 1725). Robert Marley, you said, was born in 1744, about 20 years AFTER Mary. After Edward's death in 1782, sometime during the mid-to-late 1790's, the Gilbert family, including Mary, moved to Franklin County, Georgia. Also moving to Franklin County was William and John Gilbert's inlaws - Jacob and Priscilla Strickland. William and John had married Strickland sisters. Jacob and Priscilla and family had also been in Guilford County for awhile. Mary died in Franklin Co. in 1804, I believe it was and she had not remarried that I know of.

Listen, I really appreciate your trying to help me, though. Thanks a lot!

Sue (Johnson) Howard
