Nell,
Sharon,
Thanks for the e-mail.
I had the census records but did NOT have the initial K with Ezra.Very, very interesting. To add a little, Elaenor Simons married William Marley June 2, 1821, Orange Co., IN.Also, John M. Marley (age 19 born IN) and Prisicilla (age 18 born IN) are living next door to William and Eleanor in the 1850 Census.
We can tie enough information together to GUESS at the parents and Grandparents of your Kemp.First lets look at what we know:
-John and Susannah (Teague) Marley) moved from Wilkes Co., NC, to Lawrence Co., IN by 1820 (John was in 1820 Lawrence Co. Census).John probably left Wilkes Co. about 1817.John and Susannah arrived in Wilkes Co. (from Chatham Co., NC) by early 1800 (purchased land).
- According to Census records John and Susannah had two sons born before 1790 and two sons born between 1795 and 1804).This would fit with the approximate birth date of William in the 1850 Orange Co., IN Census.
- William was born in NC (per 1850 Census) and John and Susannah were in NC in 1804.
-William married in 1821 in IN and John and Susannah and their sons born 1794 to 1805 were in IN by 1820.
- Lawrence Co. and Orange Co. are very close to each other.
Now the guess work.John and Henry Marley and their families left Chatham Co., NC and both moved to Wilkes Co., NC with their families.John and Henry Marley both moved to Lawrence Co., IN between 1817 and 1820.The children of Henry have been identified and they did not include a William.NONE of the children of John and Susannah have been identified. One other Marley group moved to IN but they were probably too late for this William since he married in IN in 1821.John M. Marley (married Pricilla) was born in a time frame to be the oldest child of William and Eleanor.ONLY BY PROCESS OF ELIMINATION it APPEARS that William COULD be the son of John and Susannah.NO PROOF.
My book covers the families of Henry and all of the other NC Marley families.I have considerable information on John and have Susannah's parents etc. but I have not found anything to name John and Susannah's children. He always seemed to own land so he should have a will or administration somewhere but neither has been located.
A lot of guess work but maybe a basis to start on.Let me know what you think.
