Hello! I am working on my dissertation at FSU; the topic is Women and the Classical Banjo Tradition. In the mid 1890s there was a Miss Laura O. Marks who lived in Philadelphia during that time and taught the various stringed instruments (banjo, mandolin, guitar). She also composed at least one banjo piece published in a local banjo journal. I would like any information about her family or life as I have not found anything else about her.
