I recall a now deceased member of the Markins clan from Indianapolis, had traced the name many years ago to a group of French fur traders that resided in the Daniel Boone encampment in Kentucky. I do know that my paternal natural Grandfather's name was Charles. My father had 2 Brothers, Jack and Vernon, and a Sister, Hallie. All lived in and around Indianapolis. My father's mother was Nancy Elizabeth.(nee Garrett). My paternal grandparents divorced before my birth in 1936. I do know my paternal Grandfather had remarried and there were a half brother and half sister to my father that lived in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.
