Hello,
My grandfather's name was George H. (I believe that was for Henry) Markin. Unfortunately, he passed on when I was about 4 years old. I never did learn much about the family. I asked my grandmother once, and was told that there was a family argument, and because of this argument, the Markin side was not to be talked about. She has also since passed on, but I am left wondering who the rest of the family was. I read through several of the other posts, and was amazed to find several mentioning a family rift.
I do apologize for my lack of helpful information any further back than my grandfathers name, but this is all I know:
George H. Markin b. Feb 11, 1914, d. Oct 12, 1978. He married Della Gehlbach in October of 1939. I do not know if the argument occured before or after this marriage, but I do know my father was born in Gary (1952), and the family then moved to Vistula Indiana.
Any information that anyone could give would be very helpful.
