We believe Carroll Markham was the brother of Nimrod Markham and John Bunyon Markham.
Nimrod married Eliza Ann 30 July 1845, in Noxubee County, Mississippi.
John Bunyon Markham married Sarah Elizabeth Upshaw 3 September 1843 in Noxubee County, Mississippi. In 1850 John Bunyon Markham and his wife and small children were living in Bienville Parish, Louisiana in the home of James C. Markham, who was born about 1807 and was believed to be an older brother of John Bunyon Markham. And James C. Markham had a son named Nimrod.
John Bunyon Markham was stabbed to death by D.J. Morris in Feb 1856 at Morris' home in Minden Louisiana. The judge let Morris go.
Nimrod and John are believed to have been born in White County, Tennessee, and may have been the sons of a John Markham Sr, who died in Louisiana after 1859, when he married a Nancy Franks.
Nimrod Markham did not go to Bienville Parish, Louisiana with John, but did go to Yalobusha County Mississippi. His descendants later settled near Kosse in Limestone County, Texas about 1858, coming from Vicksburg, Mississippi. I am in contact with a descendant of Nimrod Markham through his son, James Llewellyn Markham.
I am a descendant of John Bunyon Markham through his son James Monroe Markham. This branch of the Markham left Louisiana in 1867 and settled in Bell County, Texas, near the small town of Holland. That is where most of the family is buried.
Nimrod was born 6 Dec 1818, and John B. was born 1819. So Carroll could be a younger brother.
