Thomas Markham of St Pancras, London
Posted by: Peter Giles (ID *****4205) Date: October 05, 2008 at 20:36:55
  of 1459

Thomas Markham was resident in Pancras, London. He may have been a tobacconist by occupation. He was born about 1833. His wife is listed as a widow in the 1881 census. She is of Downley, Buckinghamshire. Name spelt various ways
such as Agger, Alger and Ager. Born about 1836. The 1881 census shows that
among the surviving children are Frank,(25 yrs) Stella,(17 yrs) Blanche,(20yrs) also a grandson, Cecil W Markham (5 yrs).
A puzzle is that a marriage certificate for A Thomas Markham married to Augusta Agger is dated 1866. A death certificate for a Thomas Markham is listed as in 1866.
Could be transcription errors.
I am the great grandson of Blanche Markham, who married John Halstead Wood.(1858-1886). No marriage certificate seems to be recorded. She married a second time when widowed, to William Henry Erby.
