James Markey County Meath>New Jersey.

I am looking for information on James Markey (perhaps also spelled Markay at times) who married Margaret Halligan in Ireland and came to New Jersey from County Meath around 1852. Perhaps they were in Jersey City, since that is where some of their grand-children were born. They apparently stayed in the area until they died.

They had a son, Thomas Francis Markey (b. 1846 in Ireland) who ended up in Dallas, and Pilot Grove townships in Hancock County, Illinois. Thomas married Elizabeth McGrath in 1870 in NJ. By 1880 they were in Illinois to stay, though Thomas had been there earlier, and then returned to NJ. Thomas had a large family and numerous descendants.

The names of Thomas' sons were Mathew Anselmo; Thomas F.; Daniel James; William Henry; John Joseph; Walter Richard; and George Leo.
Any relatives/descendants of James and Margaret out there?

Thanks,
Marcia (susie0884@aol.com)
