I would like to help, but I'm afraid I am only going to add to the confusion. The Melvina Tate b. 25 Jan., 1838, Illinois who married Harrison Hutchcraft on 21 Oct, 1858 in Carmi, Illinois was the daughter of Elizabeth Maricle
b. 11or14 June, 1820, Vg. - d. 12 Feb. 1903, and James Tate
b. 24 April, 1810, Tn. and died 24 Nov., 1880.

James Tate was the sixth child born to John Tate and his second wife, Elizabeth Parkeson. They were married on 18 Feb., 1794 in Washington Co., Tenn. John Tate was born 14 Sept., 1735 in Ireland. He came to America as a young man and served as a soldier in the Rev. War.

Elizabeth Maricle was the daughter of Jacob Maricle and Sarah Arbaugh. Jacob was the son of Rev. Soldier, George Maricle b. about 1755 in New Jersey and died 1850 in White Co., Illinois.

Now comes the problem. Harrison and Melvina Hutchcraft had nine children. between 1859 and 1877. None of them was named Nancy. If the birthdate of your Nancy is correct, she would have been born several years before Harrison and Melvina were married

Information presented above is taken from the books "George Maricle Family", and "John Tate and his descendants"

I look forward to hearing how this all works out. Eddy Emerson
