DAWSON - Richard S. Marek, 66, of Dawson died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born July 27, 1940, in Fargo, N.D., the son of Frank and Ida Kemmer Marek. He married Judy K. Buhl in 1965.
Mr. Marek was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1958 to 1962 and retired from the Illinois Air National Guard's 183rd Fighter Wing. He also retired as a letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Cool Cruisers.
Survivors: wife, Judy; son, Richard L. (wife, Beverly) Marek of Glenarm; three grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; sister, Ann (husband, Michael) Ham of Wyndmere, N.D.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery
