Hi Sandy, Is your James Mardis the one that was married to Mary Polly Lee 13 March 1832, children Isaac born 1839, Wyatt born 1844, Lucy born 1841 and Isabelle born 1846? I descend from the Isaac line as follows, ISAAC Mardis (I think married Sarah Sweet 11-27-1887 had children William M born 1860, WILLIAM (ISAAC) JEFFERSON DAVIS born 1866, Ada B, also born 1866 twin?, then (I think) married Rachel Lindsey on 11-15-1870 and had children John D(David?), Jeff, Fidella (Diller on 1900 census) and Wiley. On the 1870 Fairdealing KY census there is only Isaac and William M. listed. On the 1880 Marshall Co,KY census there is no mother listed and Wiley was 2 mos old born in April, so I assume she died in childbirth. My grandfather believed his grandmother's name to be Mary. Since he was born in 1906 I believe her to be the Mrs. Mary Moss who married Isaac Mardis in 1894. W. Isaac J. D. married Mary Ann (Dolley) Wells she was born 7-26-1870 and died 4-4-1949, he died in 1927 and my oldest uncle says he is buried in City View Cemetary in Union City, TN. Their children were Joe, Roy, Geneva, my grandfather JOHN WYNN <MORDIS> born 12-23-1906 Clayton,TN and Lottie born 1913. John Wynn Mordis is listed as the 8th child on the birth certificate. John W. married Josie (Jewuel) Rushing and had 12 children, my father Lexie B is #4, born in Cayce KY, I am Lexie & Judy's eldest daughter born in 1959 IL. Hope this helps you out, I would like to have info on your line too if you could. I'd be glad to share more info. Lisa
