In 1901, a nine-year-old girl, Margaret Marden Soule, wrote a letter to her descendants and dropped it in a time capsule in Colorado Springs. In January, the time capsule will be opened, and we are looking for descendants.

Margaret's maternal grandparents were George Nathaniel Marden and Sarah H. -?-. George was born March 1836 in New Hampshire. His wife, Sarah, was born in April 1833 in Maine.

In December 1889, Margaret's parents, Jennie Marden and George Soule married in Colorado Springs. Jennie was born in Maine and George Soule in Connecticut, according to the 1900 census.

George Marden was a professor, vice president, and treasurer of Colorado College in Colorado Springs. He died Oct. 31, 1908 in Colorado Springs and Sarah moved to Denver shortly after.

E-mail me directly at lvixie@att.net if you can shed light on this family and help us find descendants or living relatives of Margaret Marden Soule.

Thanks!

Linda Vixie
