John Marcy 1662 - 1724

I’m new to this so please forgive me if I am asking something that everyone else already knows.

John Marcy (1662 – 1724) is my 6th Great Grandfather. “trees” and “hints” indicate he was born in Ireland and a comment says his father was “the high sheriff of Limerick.” It says his father was Geoffrey Massey, (1591 - 1676) born in Knutsford, England and died in Salem, MA This makes Massey 71 when John Marcy was born. Also there is no indication of Massey being “high sheriff of Limerick.”

Does anyone have John Marcy’s parents’ information or is John Massey correct?
