The picture in question has been determined my most recent (and reliable) historians to be of a much later date than Boyer and others have indicated -- it is generally accepted to be from the early 1900s when Josie Earp was on her way to becoming a plump matron in her 50s (she was born in @ 1860). For more info see a more accurate version of her memoirs: "Wyatt's Woman: She Married Wyatt Earp", edited by Earl Chafin (Boyer has admitted that he made up much of his book, and the picture is therefore cast in doubt as well)
