Another quick follow-up as I just got back the marriage and birth certificates from England. In a nutshell, the combined information from both says that "master butcher" Alexander MARCUS (aka Emil MARCUS in America) was son of Elias MARCUS, a general merchant--does not say where, but does say that he was deceased at time of marriage in Jan. 1892. Bertha WEINER (aka VINER, WIENAR, etc.), domestic servant (cook), was daughter of Jacob WEINER.

I noted your mention in another message on this forum of an Elias MARCUS from a city in Poznan Province. Do you have more information on him and his children?
