Thank you very much for the information. The Jess W. MARCUS in the obituary sounds like he might be a son of the Jesse MARCUS who was the grandson of my g grandfather, James A. HILL. An elderly relative told me that Velma MARCUS of Greenfield, TN was the daughter of Jesse (I'm not positive that he was correct.) and I know there was some sort of connection to a Lizzie DAVIS. I really wish there was a year given in that obituary. Did your Martha live in the Obion Co. area? Ruth/Rutha CROCKETT, b. c1819, sister of my gg grandmother, Rebecca CROCKETT, (Rebecca was the mother of James A. HILL, grandfather of Jesse, James, and Sarah MARCUS.) married Steven W. EAVES 21 Oct 1844 in Weakley Co., TN. Weakley Co. borders Obion Co., TN. I don't have any other information about the ancestors of Steven EAVES, but his children were Sarah EAVES, b. 1846; Alabama Eugenia EAVES, b. 1848; Martha A. EAVES, b. 1850; Isaac S. EAVES, b. 1852; Mary E. EAVES, b. c1855; Rutha J. EAVES, b. c1858 I wonder if Thomas might be related to him. Do you have dates of birth for Martha, Thomas, or Amelia? Thanks again for the MARCUS information. It certainly sounds like part of my line.
