I suppose there just might be a relationship between Martin MARCUS and my great-grandmother Sara MARKUS, born 1853, married Simon WOHLAUER, lived in Hamburg, Germany, and died in 1929 in nearby Altona. She had sisters: Nanny, married Hermann BERG; Lina, married Louis SPIER; and one who married SELIG. In addition, she had 9 other siblings, all of whom lived to adulthood. Could Martin MARCUS be one of those siblings?

Perhaps not, because Sara MARKUS was born in Pleszew, Poland, her father, Elias MARKUS, was born in Kozmin, Poland, and her mother, Rika SCHLOWJEK, was born in Pleszew. Could Martin have been born in Poland, and only moved later with some of his siblings to Altona? Or is he perhaps a cousin rather than a brother of Sara MARKUS? Do you by chance know the names of any of Martin's siblings?
