That is an interesting question and one I have no answer to. I can only imagine that the family od Wyatt, (if it is indeed Josie) didn't want it reprinted (for obvious reasons.) I am still trying to discover if in fact this is a picture of Josie. I personally have a tendency to believe that it is since it was reprinted during her lifetime and used on a book that was intended to be her biopgraphy and she did not dispute it, nor did the family press any charges against the author for using it. It would seem that she or her family would have made a statement of some type if it was not her. I am going to make an attmpt to contact the ancestors of Wyatt Earp for further insight on the matter.
