Oct 1899 KY to a James M. Mills and Nancy (-). Since you didn't say where these people were located or an age on John Henry...I don't know if this could be a link or not. This family was located in 1900 Martin Co KY, when I found them. I have a couple more census's for Martin Co, 1910 and 1920 if this turns out to sound like your John Henry Mills.
