I am looking for information of Aurélie M. Marcotte, who was born between 1827 and 1834 in Québec. She married Jean-Bapiste Bélanger/Belonge/Belongea, etc., on April 14, 1847 in Bourbonnais, Will County, Illinois. I think he was the son of Jean and Marguerite Belonge. J.B. and Aurelia had at least seven children. The first, Eliza, was born in May 1850 in Will County. The second, Mary, was born 1857-58 in Illinois. The third, Alice, was born February 1865 in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa. She married John Hamel. This is my line. The fourth child was Amanda "Fannie". She was born 1866-67 and married George G. Evans. The fifth child was Frederick J., born August 1870. He married Kate Engebrigson and died in California. The sixth child was John Alfred. He was born 1870-71. The seventh child was Annie M., born 1872-1873. J.B. Belongea, husband of Aurelia, died between 1870 and 1880. Aurelia died in January of 1909 and was buried on the eighth in Floyd Cemetery in Sioux City.

John and Aurelia are on the 1850 census in Bourbonnais, the 1870 census in Sioux City, and Aurelia is on the 1880 census. She also appears in the 1892 city directory. I would like to know who her parents were. I think that she must be related to the various Antoine Marcottes of the area of Kankakee, where J.B. Belongea bought land in the 1850s. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate it very much. You can email me at sgenw@yahoo.com.
