Eric:
The Raymond mentioned in Jean Marcotte's book is not the same as your grandfather, but
if your grandfather was the son of Elie, grandson of Mathias (and Therese Galeau), then the line I sent you would be correct.
Jean Marcotte was only able to work on the dictionary until he became ill during the 70s. The book was published unfinished after his death. He admitted that there was much research he had been able do, and there are of course many Marcotte descendants, including my own grandfather who were not listed in the book.To be absolutely certain that the line is yours, you need to ascertain that Mathias' wife was Therese Galeau (aka Gelieu).Mathias is also shown as married to a Therese Valiquette, but this
could be a "dit nom" and also to a Tharsile Brouillet, who was probably a first wife who died. The wife of the Elie (Ely) in your line is not shown, but the book does coincide with other information you listed.
Jean Marcotte shows Ely's siblings as:
Anna, Josephine, Leander and Damase (= your Demoss).
