I went by the library today and did some research on this line. I was mistaken about Joshua Moore leaving a will in Henry County, GA. It was his father, Joshua Moore Sr., who left a will in Georgia (in 1816, I think). I took a look at a very good Moore family-tree book entitled, "Wright-Lewis-Moore and Connections". It lists some of Joshua Moore's children, but no Sarah. But this line was by no means complete in this book.
I also looked in the Minutes of Bethesda Baptist Church on microfilm. I had seen a partial abstract of a memorial to Wiley G. Marchman in the Bethesda history book, but wanted to see the whole thing. I will abstract it here. (Phyllis, if you would like a copy, e-mail me your snail-mail address and I will gladly mail it to you).
"A Tribute of Respect
In humble submission Bethesda Church
Whereas it has pleased the Heavenly Father to remove from our midst our beloved brother, W. G. Marchman, who departed this life on the 20th of May, 1883, be it therefore resolved 1st that in the death of Bro. Marchman the church was handed the loss of a (sp.?) and humble member and (sp.?) Diacon (Deacon) and one whose presents (presence) among us is much missed.
Resolved 2nd that the testimony which he gave in a dying hour confirms our hope that death to him was indeed the gate to endless joy.
Resolved 3rd that we as a church do sympathize with the bereaved family of our deceased brother and would point them to the words of our Savior as the great and only solid comfort.
Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.
(Signed,)
A. D. Harmon
J. S. Adamson
E. W. Barnes (my Great-Grandfather)
R. E. Harper"
