Hi, We are sort of related. I am daughter of your Aunt Angelina and your Uncle Tony's oldest son Thomas. I'm in North Carolina. I remember a story my grandmother (Angelina) told me when I was a little girl that the family originally was heading for the United states but someone had an eye infection and they wouldn't let them off the boat and that was how they ended up in Brazil. Angelina's English was just a little bit broken but I understood at the time that she was the one with the eye infection. So I had thought that she was born in Italy but everything I have seen says she was born in Brazil. So then I thought she might have been relaying a family story and it was about her half-sister. But if her half-sister Parma was also born in Brazil, then either I've confused the story totally or she was telling about either her mother or father. Had you heard anything like that? Girardo Antonio Marchetti died in 1956 so I should be able to get his death certificate from the RI Archives this year. I've been waiting for his naturalization papers from Homeland Security now for two years (guess they have their hands full with other issues now) but I'm hoping if I ever get it, it will shed some light on the history. He was second husband of Parma's mother Maria. Parma and Angelina were half sisters. I'd be happy to share what little info I have. Notify Administrator about this message?
