Bradley good luck in your search. Your best chances of locating your history is to start with all your oldest living relatives and get all the information you can from them. There were many Italian imigrants that came over in the period 1880-1920. If you can identify your grandparents and grgrandparents then you probably can find the link that came thru Ellis Island. The Ellis Island records are very good and give the ship records and give the entry to the US records. It just takes the names of the person and a lot of searching. These records will inform you of where they came from, where they are going to reside in this country, a brief physical discription, and who they are going to live with in this cou

Do not think of only the area you now live in, keep an open mind. I beleive most Italian immigrants started out at Ellis Island and moved West etc from there. You may find your ancestor living in a couple of areas before they settled in New Orleans.

If you list your grandparents others may be able to help you from there?
