Stephen Marchbanks was the father of Elizabeth Marchbanks. In the Greenville County, SC Register of Deeds office I found that John Goldsmith(husband of Elizabeth Marchbanks)owned interest in the lands of Stephen Marchbanks. Stephen lived in the Simpsonville area and attended Clear Springs Baptist Church. He later moves to Laurens County. I found him in the Laurens County Probate records around 1805-1806. That is all I found on him. I'm not sure about his land in Laurens County. His wifes name may have been Polly(I can't document this). John died in 1825 and is buried in Simpsonville, SC. Elizabeth moved to NC and married Ruben Kieth. Thanks for any information you may have.

Lynn Goldsmith
