Your theory may be right on. However, I have nothing to add that will help. I note, as I am sure you have, that there was a son of Christopher Marchant named Wlloughby who began the "begats" of several Gideon Marchant's whose children, especially daughters, I am seeking. My focus is toward a Marchant daughter of Currituck born ca 1780's who married one of the Patten's (sp?)of Currituck ca1800.
