Marchand
I recently came across a web site for the Alsace-Lorraine Marchand's. My Marchand Familty came from there but arrived in Texas and did not go to Canada. This site can be accessed in English and includes a lot of the cantons in the Alsace-Lorraine area. My family was from Rougegoutte part of the Territoire de Belfort. To access this site, and it took me years to find it, type in Lisa90.org. It lists baptismal records from around 1610 and includes marriage and burial records. They use the french traditon of keeping the mother's maiden name on all records. Once you figure it out it is rather straight forward. The words for birth, death, and marriage are in French so you at least have to know those words in French. Good luck. Please let me know if you use the site as I am interested in the Marchand name.
