Dear Lisa

There were around 11 Marchand immigrants into Canada, among them one Jacques Le Marchand; who had 1 son who had 1 son. But that person married 3 times (serially), and Cousin Remi and I come from the last wife. Remi and Suzanne, his wife have published a volume of 11000+ Marchand marriages in North America, and I am fortunate enough to own a copy. The data that I have sent you comes from that book.

I am pretty sure that your mother and I are not first cousins; maybe 4th once removed, or something. I will not know until I follow thru to your immigrant ancestor. I will try to do this in the next day or so.

I am glad that I decided to see whether your family was in Remi's book, and look forward to finding which ancestor was yours.

Now however, the sun is shining and I need to go out and cut some more firewood (I live in western WA where one must use every sunny day to good purpose).

Maybe Cousin
