Jim, I have a considerable amount of information on one line of his ancestors. He is definitely descended from Daniel Boone. His father was Marion Boone March and his mother was Marie Boone Shull. Marie was Daniel Boone's great-great grandaughter through his daughter Lavina who married Joseph Scholl. The name changed over time from Scholl to Shull. Marie's mother was Sarah Leftwich Higgins and that is where the Leftwich name entered the picture.
I would also be interested to know your connection to this family. Are you related to his wife, Nannie Peal Cunningham? Do you know if they had children?
