Dear Tiffany,
Please send me an email explaining exactly what it is you want from me. I have more information on the Marble Family than can possibly be answered here. I am descended from an Ephraim Marble, our earliest documented ancestor, who was probably a grandson of the immigrant John Marble who came to America in 1639 on the ship Jonathan.

My line of descent is from Ephraim who married Susannah Burnham, their son Ephraim who married 1. Hannah Howell and 2. Martha (?), Ephraim & Martha's son, John who married Phebe Luce (John fought in the Revolutionary War in both the Massachusetts and Vermont Militias. He fought in the Battle of Bennington while in the Vermont Militia.), John & Phebe's son, John who married Sophronia (?), John and Sophronia's son Hiram Ephraim who married Olivia Watkins, Hiram & Olivia's son Lyman Henry who married Anna Boulware, Lyman & Anna's son, Hiram who married Julia Belden, Hiram & Julia's son Claude Wayne who married Belle Boaz, and Claude and Belle Marble were my parents.

I checked some of your other postings and from those learned that you are wanting documentation about a John Marble being a Revolutionary War Veteran so that you can join the DAR. Since I have found about 20 or more John Marbles in my research, the above mentioned John Marble may not be the one you are searching for. However, if he is, my cousin Nancy Marble has authentic documentation of his service. She is also a Marble historian and she and her husband have had a plaque, approved by the DAR, made to place on John Marble's gravestone. John and his wife, Phebe, are both buried in the Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland, Bennington County, Vermont.

If you have any more questions, please e-mail me at

I would also like to have any information you have on your Marble ancestry so that I can include it in my Marble Family database. Besides my own family line I have a great deal of information on other Marble family lines also.

Marjorie (Marble) Barton
