Polly Mariah (Marble) Moss family
Greetings,
I am searching for information on the ancestry and family of Polly Mariah Marble who married John Moss. I know they had a daughter named Hannah. Hannah was born on February 27, 1843 in Vermilion County, IL. Hannah is supposed to be the daughter of John and Polly Mariah Marble Moss.
Hannah Moss married a Henry Hammans in Davis County, IA supposably on April 22, 1859. Henry Hammans was born on July 29, 1814 in either Virginia or Indiana. He died on March 3, 1877 in Red Bluff, Tehama County, California and is supposed to be buried at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff. This couple had about ten children.
The wedding Henry & Hannah was Henrys' second. Hammans first married an Elizabeth Brown, and, had two sons from that marriage too. Hannah Moss Hammans the daughter of Polly Mariah (Marble) Moss married two more times after the death of Henry in 1877 in Tehama County, California.
Hannah married secondly an Amos McTaggart about 1880. Thirdly Hannah married Henry Oliphant about 1898. It is said that Hannah died in the Oliphant home housefire in Ono, Shasta County, California and is buried in a Ono Cemetery.
This information comes from a document written by Virginia Dare Hammans, George L. Hammans and Marjorie Ly Nowichi who are descendants of Hannah Moss Hammans McTaggart Oliphant. What really happend to Hannah? Hannah Moss Hammans would be my great, great great grandmother. I found a website a while back on this branch of the family that gave a different outline on Hannah's death. That website is no longer available online. So how did Hannah die?
I have been trying to get pass John and Polly Mariah (Marble) Moss in my genealogy. John & Polly Mariah (Marble) Moss would be my great-great-great-great grandparents any information on their family or ancestry would be greatly appreciated, I need to fill in the blanks, thanks.
