The Davis City Advance, Davis City, Iowa
Thursday, March 12, l896

Died at his home in Davis city, Ia. March lst, l896: ABEL MARBLE, aged 91 years, 9 months and 28 days, was born May 4th, l804 in Shenango Co., N.Y. where he resided until about 2l years of age and then removed to Onida County, N.Y. where he married SARAH JANE DELAP in the year l828 and resided 9 years and then moved to Oswego County where he resided until l848 and in the fall of that year he moved with his family to Walworth County, Wisconsin where he lived until l864 and then he moved to Decatur County where he resided until his death. He was the father of ten children and leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his loss, and has living thirty grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He united with the Church of Latter Day Saints about the year l839 and has since been a professed Christian. He was a good father, a kind husband and was loved by all who knew him. In the year l888 he had a stroke of paralysis and has since been an invalid.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Elvin and remains were interred in Davis City.
