First guess about Marables in the Philippines would be that the name was introduced by a U.S. soldier during World War II. (I've corresponded with Marables in Australia who got the name this way, although there are also Marables there who emmigrated directly from England).

If you have family history of the Marable name prior to WWII I would be interested very to know about it. Of course there could have been a Marable family that emmigrated to the Philipines at any time after the United States acquired the country from Spain at the end of the Spanish American War in 1898.

Introduction of the name prior to 1898 from either the United States or England would be possible but unlikely, I would think.
