It may be possible, I have recently learned, that her maiden surname was McClellan (or some variant spelling thereof). There are McClellan's listed in the 1790 Washington Co., PA census as well as the 1800 Greene Co., PA census (the latter was set off from Washington County in 1796...the village of Mapletown is located in east-central Greene County, as is Greene Township where the 1800 Census lists McClellans living.).
