Hi Doris,

I'm glad to hear from you again. I hope all is well with you and your family.

I don't know whether you have heard that there is a Mapes yDNA project established. There are 6 men who have volunteered to participate and we have the results with one more in the works. I wish you could convince one of your brothers, male cousins or uncles with the Mapes surname to volunteer to take the yDNA test. This may be the only way that we can determine if all of Mark's descendants are descended from Thomas Mapes, born 1628. There are lots of reasons why there is a stone wall to stop us finding Mark's ancestors. However, the results of the yDNA test could show if Mark is from Thomas' lineage or from a different line altogether.
