Thanks Sheila. I think we both found the same Ada May Mapes, however, I haven't proved the link between everyone in the census. My Ada Mapes was born in 1886 and married in 1901 to George Williams. What is interesting, is that on the marriage registration, she has her name listed as Mapes and her father listed as John - her mother as Emily. Later, on one of the childrens birth certificates, she still records her maiden name as Mapes however, on another birth registration, she now records her name as Ada May Mapes Brown - and she only uses that one time. This caused me to wonder if perhaps her mother may have been Emmeline Mapes, shown as the daughter of Jacob and Bethany, making her the granddaughter and not the daughter of those two. It seemed unlikely that the mother would have had her at age 52, given the ages of the other children living at home during that time. The Williams went on to have about 6 children, one of whom was my grandmother. Sharon Notify Administrator about this message?
